This eight-week course builds on foundational electronic health records skills, with a focus on medical coding and advanced administrative functions. Students deepen their proficiency in EHR systems while learning to apply ICD-CM diagnostic coding and CPT procedural coding. Hands-on coding practice is conducted using SimChart, an industry-standard online simulation platform, giving students practical experience with the tools used in today's medical offices. This course is a component of the Healthcare Office Certificate program and follows completion of Electronic Health Records.
