Portland Adult Education's Supported CNA program is a 5-month-long program preparing students for a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Students engage with the state CNA curriculum from the first day of class, supported throughout the term in the course Reading Comprehension and Test Prep and Career Planning in a Digital World. Medical Terminology is offered during the first half of the semester, transitioning to Foundational Math Skills in the second half to build the numeracy students need as they advance through the curriculum. After successfully completing classroom and lab instruction, students complete 40 hours of clinical hours and sit for the Maine State Certification Exam.

Prerequisites: CASAS score of 228-240; US work authorization; high school diploma or equivalent; approved application including two letters of reference; Immunizations and criminal background check required.
