For students of the HVAC Pre-Apprenticeship Program, technical training will include: The theoretical basis of refrigerants and heat pump technology; Hands-on-training in heat pump installation; Hands-on training in assembly and disassembly of a common residential heat pump. In addition, students may complete a small building project (such as a wall section) to prepare them for a career in clean energy. Students are responsible for the set up and clean up of their work site in each class.

Prerequisites: Authorized to work in the US, CASAS score of 220+, past experience in a technical field, high school diploma or equivalent, approved application, and interview
